Tubal Disorders

One of the primary causes of infertility in women is tubal disease.

One of the primary causes of infertility in women is tubal disease, a disorder that includes a blocked or damaged fallopian tube. A pelvic examination is used for the initial diagnosis, followed by additional testing to confirm the diagnosis.

Causes of Tubal Disease:

    * Scar tissue from endometriosis
    * Scar tissue from abdominal surgery or earlier cesarean section
    * Past infections
    * Tubal ligation

There are treatment options to address tubal disease.

    * Surgical removal of scar tissue
    * Surgical repair of damaged tubes
    * Surgical reversal of a ligation
    * In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
